Navigation Tracking Technologies
Precision is paramount in every surgical procedure - and that is why our computer-assisted navigation systems have revolutionized traditional surgical techniques. Using our proprietary AXIEM™ electromagnetic tracking technology or standard optical tracking technology, you can improve procedure precision, reduce trauma to surrounding healthy anatomy, and decrease healing time.
How Computer-Assisted Navigation Works
AXIEM™ and optical tracking technologies perform similarly to satellite navigation for geographic positioning by precisely and dynamically tracking and triangulating signals from the trackers on the surgical instruments and patient reference devices.
As data from either tracking method registers to the navigation system computer, it is visually merged with pre-operative scans on the system monitor in real-time - allowing you to confidently and precisely track the position and trajectory of surgical instruments throughout the procedure. What’s more, the data-rich images can be manipulated on-screen to provide views never before seen in the OR.
